Today, I had the absolute pleasure of spending time with one of my clients, and let me tell you, I left feeling inspired (and maybe a little jealous of his artistic skills). Mr. Larry lives alone and has found the most creative way to pass his time—he uses random objects from around the house to create shapes on a poster board, then colors them in. And folks, his artwork is amazing! I was in awe at how intricate and vibrant his pieces were.

He told me that creating these masterpieces is his favorite way to stay busy, and it keeps his mind sharp. Plus, it helps him stay relaxed. As someone who’s been working with seniors for a while, I couldn’t help but think about how important it is to stay active, both physically and mentally, as we get older.
Being a Medicare Advantage broker, I’m always reminding my clients to keep their bodies in motion, but let’s not forget about keeping the brain fresh, too! Whether it’s art, crossword puzzles, gardening, or something else, doing something that makes you happy and keeps your mind engaged is key to living well.
For Mr. Larry, art is his way of finding joy and staying relaxed. It’s proof that no matter what stage of life you’re in, finding a hobby you love can make all the difference. And I love that he’s found something so meaningful to him. He doesn’t just pass the time; he creates beautiful, colorful moments that fill his day with purpose. ( He even gave me one to take home. )
So, to all my current and potential clients—whether you live alone or with family, find something that lights you up. Whether it’s art like Mr. Larry or something else entirely, staying active is more than just keeping your body moving; it’s about keeping your spirit engaged. And hey, if you’re ever feeling stuck, know that I’m here not just for your insurance needs but also as a resource for staying healthy and happy.
Remember, life doesn’t stop just because we retire. Let’s make sure we’re covered in all aspects—mentally, physically, and of course, with the best insurance plan for your needs.
